When I look for something to wear in cold weather golf I keep three things in mind. First, does it restrict my swing? Second, Does it keep me warm? Third, does it look good? In my quest for the perfect piece of outerwear, I have tried many brands but nothing has worked for me as well as the Second Skin Drywick.
(The Second Skin Drywick in red. I own it in black.)
Does It Impact Your Swing?
For me, this is the most important thing. If it restricts or causes discomfort during my swing, I won't wear it. As a 12 handicap my swing has enough flaws and the last thing I need is a piece of clothing getting in the way of my swing or my mind.
After wearing the Second Skin Drywick to the range and through a couple of rounds of cold weather golf, I barely noticed I was wearing it. From the time I put it on and took practice swings in my hotel room to the 18th hole, I felt no discomfort. The first round I played it was so cold (37 degrees) I needed a wind jacket to go over my Second Skin. Even after adding another layer I didn't notice an impact in my swing and that's something I have never experienced.
Did It Keep Me Warm?
During my first round it was 37 degrees when we teed off and climbed to 45 degrees by the end of the round. If it's 37 degrees you need a parka to keep warm. I didn't expect the Second Skin Drywick to provide the necessary warmth in those conditions. I wisely added a wind jacket over the Second Skin and was comfortable and warm. As the temperature worked its way up into the 40's I was able to remove the wind jacket and just wear the Second Skin.

Does It Look Good?
I'm one of those golfers that cares what he looks like on the golf course. In some weather, that might not apply but I do my best to look presentable at all times. In my opinion (and I'm not a fashion expert) the Second Skin Drywick is a fashionable golf shirt. Since playing I have worn it several times off the course with jeans and it's been very comfortable. If you have a casual Friday at work, this would probably be acceptable.
Overall
I love my Second Skin Drywick and I'm happy to recommend it. The light material managed to keep me warm while not interfering with my swing or causing discomfort and the design is stylish enough for the golf course or to wear out in daily use. If you're going to golf in the Spring or Fall, I would recommend the Second Skin Drywick to help you through the cooler rounds you will encounter.

Great picture in front of ocean city, the Second Skin looks very sharp! Appreciate the review of the Drywick, looks like something I'm going to add to my golf wardrobe. I hate having bulky clothes on when playing in bad weather and if this is as easy to wear as your review says then I'm hoping this will be a good pick up for me. Love the blog by the way too!

Thanks for the comment Justin! This is the best piece of outerwear I own and I would recommend it to anyone.
